Tech Education Email Phone: 608-994-2715 Meet Gary Nettesheim, our dedicated Technology Education Instructor for grades 7-12. Gary hails from his high school alma mater the Sussex Hamilton Chargers and then pursued his education at UW-Waukesha, UW-Whitewater, UW-Stout, and UW-Platteville. With a rich background, Gary has worked across various districts including Norwalk-Ontario-Brookwood, Argyle, Necedah, Prairie du Chien, and currently River Ridge, where he's celebrating his 10th year.
His favorite part of the job is witnessing students progress and gain confidence in their abilities across various courses. Beyond the classroom, Gary enjoys archery hunting and contributing to his family farm, where he's currently putting the finishing touches on his house.
When it comes to treats, Gary can't resist a good slice of pizza or some butter pecan ice cream. His favorite sport is baseball, and his preferred color is red. For leisure reading, his favorite book is "The Land Remembers" by Ben Logan and for movies, "Grumpy Old Men" takes the top spot.
An interesting fact about Gary? He is currently growing over 700 chestnut trees that were stratified and planted from seed and 700 apple trees that his family has grafted from scion wood collected from other trees on the original family farm. This has been a labor of love and hard work with the intention of selling both the nuts and apples to the public in the near future. This has made Gary excited about exploring new avenues and relishing in the freedom to pursue his passions after his time in education.
Let's give Gary a round of applause and we are happy to have him a part of the River Ridge team.
