Academic and Career Planning (ACP) is intended to equip students and their families with the tools necessary to make more informed choices about postsecondary education, training, and careers for life after high school. It is student driven, adult-supported process in which students create and cultivate their own unique and information based visions for post-secondary success, obtained through self exploration, career exploration, and the development of career management and planning skills.
ACP is a state mandate under Chapter PI-26 which states that all school boards "shall provide access to an education for employment program approved by the State Superintendent. Under s. 115.28(59), Stats., the State Superintendent shall ensure that every school board is providing academic and career planning services to pupils enrolled in grades 6 to 12 in the school district beginning in the 2017-2018 school year."

is a dynamic process built on student visions and goals documenting student interests, abilities, and values as they relate to career decision making.
Provides students and parents with information needed to make INFORMED CHOICES for education, training and careers based on local labor market information.

Serves all students. If a student has a disability, an academic and career plan shall be made available to the student's individual education program team. This team will take the student's ACP into account when developing their transition services.
All 6-12 students have access to the ACP software tool that allows them to engage in career exploration and career planning
ACP software (Xello) and resources are available to all staff. Professional development is available to staff who want to deliver ACP planning services into their 6-12 classrooms.
